JOHN LESTER COMBONG
A licensed professional teacher who’s an alumnus of Mindanao State University, General Santos Campus with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Filipino and earned his education units in the same university. Currently, he is taking his master’s degree in education teaching Filipino (completed academic requirements) at the University of Mindanao - Davao City.
He is an active student-leader during his college days. He was elected-by-large as secretary-general of College of Social Sciences and Humanities Students’ Organization and nominated as one of the most outstanding secretaries of an organization during the 15th Kabantugan awards. He was also awarded as college service awardee, conferred to student-leaders who excelled in their fields.
As a student of arts and humanities, he was also a dramatics and stage craft enthusiast where he directed some of his original piece which was presented at MSU for Filipino stage play works. He is also a member of different local and national youth organizations and served the ad-hoc committees in their university such as constitutional amendment committee and commission on elections as chairperson. His hobbies include writing poem and short stories, and some of his works were published in some school-based publications and local websites.
He is still active in different non-government and youth organizations as head translator for Filipino at Juan Health PH and programs committee for graphics and design at ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit.
Currently, he is a certified google educator, Subject Matter Expert for Filipino and Social Sciences and the subject area coordinator for Filipino at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University – Senior High School.
